The Mission at Kern County’s purpose is to offer an environment conducive to the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of the people we serve by providing hope and a future through Jesus Christ.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served each day in our Curt Kennedy Center located at 724 E. 21st Street. Our kitchen staff prepares an average of 500 meals every day. Each month, more than 15-thousand meals are served, averaging nearly 200-thousand meals every year. These basic needs must be satisfied before someone can imagine a different life. God uses simple moments in the Mission dining hall to redirect entire lives.
Only You Make it Possible
Meals are possible because of community support, volunteers, and donations from a variety of local businesses, restaurants, and charitable organizations.
Feeding real people in Kern County
A veteran struggling with PTSD
A minimum wage worker who didn't have enough money to pay rent and was evicted.
A young woman or man who has to dig through dumpsters to survive.
We offer them the chance to fill their stomachs with a solid meal. This might be their first healthy meal in weeks.
